Systems biology of molecular networks is a research strategy to study the molecular mechanisms that bring about cellular (dys-)functioning using experimentation, models and theory. This research group focusses on kinetic modeling and the development of network and control theory to aid experimental research on signaling, metabolic, and genetic networks. Current projects deal with regulation of mammalian gene expression (epigenetic regulation, transcription cycling, transcription bursts), nucleocytoplasmic shuttling of transcription factors (nuclear receptors), microbial ecosystem & multicellular flux (balance) analysis, control theory and stochastic theory.
