These sequences indicate 96 character sets just like the 94 character set indicators. They function in a similar fashion with the difference that positions 040 and 177 are also defined. Note that these sets can not be put in G0 position and so in an 8-bit code can not overrule the function of 040 and 177 for space and delete.
