Amsterdam Picture

CWI is located in the southeastern part of Amsterdam, in the (sometimes) charming section called Watergraafsmeer. The Insititue is a major part of the Science Park Amsterdam. To get to CWI, you should follow the instructions on CWI's local travel page.

We have NOT blocked a group of hotel rooms for this year's conference. This allows all participants to choose their own price points and days of stay. We have been told that finding a hotel might be difficult, so as a service to registrants, we will supply hotel information here. You may prefer to use other sources, of course.

Most any hotel in the center will provide access to CWI, although hotels on the Tram lines 9 and 14 are especially convenient. Unfortunately, convenience is a relative term -- by all accounts, CWI is not located in a very accessible part of town. (On the other hand, we've never had a guest who could not find the Institute -- at least, not that we know of!)

As a start, try the hotels on CWI's hotel list;

You may also want to check the availability of the following budget hotels (with a price of about 90 euros per night):

More discriminating attendees may want to check out the Ambassade Hotel.

Finally, for those who want to be near the gay part of town, it may be worthwhile to check out the Eden Hotel at Amstel 144.
