About Trijntje Fop's Poetry

Kees STIP (born 25 August 1913) died in Winschoten, The Netherlands, on 27 June 2001.
He will always be remembered, especially for his witty poems, of which I respectfully quote one sample here:
Op twee Honden

Een mop zat samen met een does
al tien jaar in de trein naar Goes.
De does sprak midden in het elfde:
`Het uitzicht blijft maar steeds hetzelfde.'
`Wat ik je brom,' sprak toen de mop,
`dit treintje is een treintje fop.'
-- Trijntje Fop

Trijntje Fop is the nom de plume of the Dutch light-verse poet Kees Stip (1913 - 2001) used for publishing poetry that satisfies the following rules:

Trijntje Fop's poems first appeared in de Volkskrant in the early fifties (1951), and at present more than 650 exist, treating the complete realm of animals and beyond.

Origin of the name

The name Trijntje Fop can be found in Multatuli: Woutertje Pieterse. On p. 28 of Vol. I of the edition ABC pocket # 92 - 93 (1958)
(cf. the preface of De dierkundige oefeningen van Trijntje Fop):

Tryntje Fop, op haar muts

Ik heet Tryntje Fop
En heb een muts op myn kop.
