Current status of software patenting regimes

One should take into account at least what happens in the USA, the EU, Japan, India and probably more. The Gauss database mentioned earlier is an example of such work. Here one finds the systematic investigation into the non-triviality and prior art violations of existing patents. We can imagine that a patent monitor is developed which enables the public to systematically submit their opinions about existing patents. In addition various forms of text-mining and cluster analysis can be employed to unlock the knowledge in the patent databases.
