Aim and Scope

The journal MCSS publishes original research papers concerned with mathematically rigorous, system theoretic aspects of control and signal processing.

To maintain the highest possible standards of quality, and based on a goal of timely publication, only a small fraction of submitted papers can be expected to be accepted. The journal strives for a fast turnaround in the review process. Papers are assigned to an Associate Editor, who makes a publication recommendation on the basis of a detailed and careful evaluation by at least two referees. Evaluation criteria used include originality, substance, and quality of exposition.

For additional information see the separate page Aim and Scope; Editorial Board.

Instructions to Authors

A typical paper submitted to MCSS consists of about 20 pages of LaTeX in 11 points article style with a maximum of 25 of such pages, 50 double-spaced typewritten pages, or an equivalent. If a paper is longer than the maximum number of pages then the authors are requested to provide a justification for the added length in their cover message. Associate Editors and reviewers are instructed to pay careful attention to conciseness as an important characteristic of good mathematical exposition.

Authors wishing to inquire about the scope of the journal or the suitability of a particular topic are encouraged to contact the Editors informally, preferably by electronic mail, prior to submission.

For further information see the page Instructions to Authors or any recent number of the journal.

Submission of manuscripts

Submit all manuscripts to the Springer MCSS Editorial Manager System available on the web.
As of 1 January 2006, all MCSS submissions have to be submitted to the Springer MCSS EM!
