The Pro-Ama Honinbo Match

Professional go players have a Honinbo title since 1941. Amateurs have a Amateur Honinbo title since 1955. Since 1963 there is a 1-game match between the pro and ama Honinbo title holders, with varying handicap and komi. Some details are given here (Japanese). See also SL.

The 54th Pro-Ama Honinbo Match was held on 2016-12-18 between Iyama Yuta, the 71st Honinbo, and Ozeki Minoru, the 62nd Amateur Honinbo.

The table below gives the results, sometimes the game itself. In all cases, the amateur played Black. Here "ha" means handicap. Starting from the 33rd edition, B can freely choose where to place the handicap stones. Negative ("reverse") komi means that W pays B.
