Open Software LICENSE


1. Background

The SEQMPPLIB software as provided here under the terms and conditions of this LICENSE, has been developed within a research project cwi.6156 with the title Markov sequential point processes for image analysis and statistical physics at CWI, Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Research project cwi.6156 has been financed by Technology Foundation STW. It is made available in this open source license to make further research in a broader public possible.

ORIGINAL SOFTWARE:

Original software means the SEQMPPLIB software as first distributed June 22nd, 2006 by Licensor

PURPOSE:

Research purposes (non commercial)


3. License conditions:

Licensor hereby grants You a world-wide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual license for research purposes which allows you to do the following:

  1. You can copy, modify the copies of the Original Software or its Derivatives worldwide, free of charge

  2. to prepare derivative works ("Derivative Works") based upon the Original Work;

  3. to distribute copies of the Original Work and Derivative Works to the public, only after having informed the author of the Original Software by post of a modification, with the provision that copies of Original Work or Derivative Works that You distribute shall be licensed under the same terms and conditions of this open software license

  4. Any copy or Derivative Works shall show the following copyright notice : Copyright © 2006, M.N.M. van Lieshout, A.G. Steenbeek, C. Varekamp.

  5. You cannot use the software for commercial purposes. Any commercial use needs the prior written approval of Technology Foundation STW (for contact details see above) legally authorised to represent the Licensor in this matter.

5. Short Description
With the Original Software a user manual is provided. This manual is a short description of the Original Software. It is in no way intended as complete user instruction.

BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL SOFTWARE IS LICENSED FREE OF CHARGE, THERE IS NO WARRANTY FOR THE ORIGINAL SOFTWARE OR THE USER MANUAL, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW. EXCEPT WHEN OTHERWISE STATED IN WRITING.

7. Acceptance by exercising any right

By exercising any of the rights granted to You in this agreement, You indicate Your acceptance of this License and all of its terms and conditions. This License shall terminate immediately and you may no longer exercise any of the rights granted to You by this License upon Your failure to honour the terms and conditions of this Agreement.
