Only when you know that can you work out what you are actually going to do. Different types of time: main task, bits & bobs, appointments It is _your_ time. Sometimes others make demands on it. Sometimes these are useful for you, sometimes not. Main task time is most important. Bits and bobs hang around, but can fill up all time. Appointments take up fixed amounts of time. Year plan- Main tasks for year Stages to reach What to do now? Month plan- Day plan- main task, bits & bobs, appointments Bits&bobs Categories ABC How long take? How important? How urgent? (I still don't know how to balance urgency with importance. Mostly only the urgent important things get done. Have to be very careful not to do urgent unimportant things.) Appointments Make time in diary for yourself If gets cancelled-make MORE time To-do Make plan with tasks & dates Make daily schedule Plan at begin of day Assess plan end of day (learning to be realistic about what you can do in a day takes practice) My favourite tips ----------------- What is the best use of my time right now?
