Ten Years Collaboration with Jos Sturm - A Tribute with Personal Memories

The speaker had known Jos Sturm for over ten years, at the beginning as Jos' master and Ph.D. thesis supervisor and later as a close collaborator. On the occasion that the optimization community grieves over the sudden loss of a young and extraordinary talent in the field, I shall present to the audience my own account of Jos' scientific work, especially his joint work with me. This ranges from the very first results contained in his master thesis, all the way to the findings that helped shaping the foundations of his famous SDP solver, SeDuMi.
