The new CD will be released early in 2001, on Red Ear Label. But, we don't want to keep
you in suspense that much longer, so here are a couple of tracks. The mono
tracks are suitable for 56K modems, the stereo tracks for at least
double ISDN.

RealAudio
For listening live RealAudio is your best option (Note: it appears that you need the new RealAudio G2 player to play the clips, older players give an error 23). Get a free player from the RealNetworks site. If you have a cablemodem or other high-bandwidth internet connection listen to the 80K stereo files, otherwise the 28K8 mono files are a better option. The listen links should start playback immedeately, the download links will first load the whole song to your machine, for better quality.

If you want to burn a CD or put songs on tape MP3 gives a very decent quality. (for the technobabble-freaks: the samples are 128Kbps 16 bit joint stereo). Downloading will take some time, though: the songs are about 3MB each, so for the whole record you'll be downloading about an hour (with a 28K8 modem).MP3.com has links to free decoding software, and for Macintosh users there is an even better site at Macintosh MP3 Information site. QuickTime 4 handles MP3 too, so if you have installed that you are all set already.
