SIGCHI Kits for Students

SIGCHI is pleased to offer HCI educators the opportunity to distribute free kits of sample SIGCHI and ACM publications to your students. The packets are aimed at introducing your students to the rich variety of resources SIGCHI and ACM makes available to its members, and to the HCI community. We hope that by having these materials as a supplement to class activities, the students will become more knowledgeable about the discipline of HCI, the various sources of information that are available to them, and the importance of going beyond the classroom to become more fully part of the professional community. Each kit includes:

an issue of SIGCHI Bulletin, the flagship publication of ACM/SIGCHI. This publication presents news, research, reports, opinions and features on topics of interest to the HCI community.
a copy of interactions, a magazine-style publication presenting new visions of HCI.
an issue of Crossroads, the ACM student magazine, edited and contributed to by student member of ACM.
a copy of TOCHI, Transactions on Computer Human Interaction, the ACM journal devoted to research in HCI.
a student membership form for joining ACM and SIGCHI at special student rates.
a cover letter explaining what the packet contains and encouraging the students to consider joining SIGCHI.

Every effort will be made to include all items listed. However, the selection may vary, subject to availability.

Between 1500-2000 packets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. To request packets, send email to: chi-student-kits@acm.org. Kindly specify the following information:

1. your name, 2. your affiliation, 3. your email address and/or telephone number, 4. the number of packets requested, 5. the shipping address for delivery of the packets
