Nihon Ki-in Championship title results

The Nihon Ki-in Championship (日本棋院選手権戦) was held from 1954 to 1975, and was succeeded by the Tengen tournament. The title match is a best-of-five match, until 1961 a best-of-three.

Honorary title

Sakata Eio won the Nihon Ki-in Champion title five consecutive times (in fact, seven consecutive times) and got the Honorary Nihon Ki-in Champion title.
